CALL FOR ABSTRACTS


This conference will be organised by the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare (ESPMH) and the Cardiff Institute for Society, Health and Ethics. Abstracts addressing the following topics can be submitted:

The concept of public health
The relationship between individual and population health
The relation between clinical medicine and public health
Health as a public good
Health as a human right
Resource allocation in public health
Social inequalities in health
Personal responsibility for health and (un)healthy behaviours
The role of law in public health
Ethical issues in public health research
Public health and genetics
Philosophical and ethical issues in relation to health systems research; health impact assessment; health promotion; vaccination / immunisation

The program of the conference includes plenary sessions as well as parallel sessions. Persons wishing to present papers at the conference are invited to submit an abstract (500 words maximum) before January 1, 2007. The Conference Program Committee will select abstracts for oral presentation. Please send abstracts (through E-mail or on diskette in Word) to:
