The conference will be organised by the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare (ESPMH), the European Association of Centres of Medical Ethics (EACME) and the Institut Borja de Bioètica, University Ramon Llull, Barcelona , Spain .

Language

The language during the conference will be English. Simultaneous translation English-Spanish will be available during the plenary sessions. Two parallel sessions will be in Spanish.

Registration

A registration form will be circulated by the ESPMH Secretariat. Please return it to this Secretariat as soon as possible, but no later than 1 April 2005 , including the registration fee, which should be transferred to the ESPMH treasurer according to the data provided on the registration form. The registration fee includes: 2 lunches, refreshments during breaks, 1 conference dinner (Friday 26th) and an abstract book.

The registration fee for participants who are not a member of ESPMH is more expensive (unless you are a member of EACME).

paid after April 1, 2005 :

Accompanying person:

Accommodation

The accommodation in Barcelona will have to be arranged by the conference participants themselves. Dr. Nuria Terribas, who is the local organiser, will soon open a special website for this conference, which will contain further information concerning the accommodation. As soon as this conference webpage will be available, we will link it to our ESPMH website: http://www.espmh.cm-uj.krakow.pl/.

Social Programme

The following social activities will be offered:
Welcome reception on Wednesday (24 August)
banquet dinner on Friday (26 August)
optional sight-seeing tours on Saturday afternoon (27 August)
Abstract Book

The abstract book will be handed out in Barcelona upon conference registration. Full manuscripts can be submitted for publication in the ESPMH journal "Medicine, Health Care and Philosophy". Participants are invited to read the instructions for authors and to submit an appropriately prepared article for review.

For EACME members a registration form will be circulated by Dr. Nuria Terribas. It should be returned to the Institut Borja de Bioetica, Dr. Nuria Terribas. The registration fee for EACME members and ESPMH members will be the same.
